Throughout these Terms, “Taai Bekkies Events”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Taai Bekkies Events.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing our website, submitting an application or enquiry, purchasing a ticket or attending one of our events, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and any event-specific conditions communicated when purchasing a ticket.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
3. Our Events
Taai Bekkies Events organises and promotes events including community markets; family events; Outdoor Cinema screenings; festivals; entertainment activities; and other community-based events.
Event dates, times, venues, activities and prices will be displayed on the relevant event page.
4. Online Ticket Purchases
Tickets for selected events, including Outdoor Cinema screenings, may be purchased through our website or an authorised ticketing or payment provider.
Before payment, customers should be shown the applicable event, date, ticket quantity/category, total price and applicable fees and be given an opportunity to correct errors before completing the transaction. These disclosures are important under ECTA.
A successful purchase does not entitle the ticket holder to attend a different event or date except where we reschedule an event and transfer the ticket accordingly. Customers are responsible for supplying accurate contact information so that we can communicate event changes.
5. Outdoor & Weather-Dependent Events
Many Taai Bekkies Events activities are held outdoors. All outdoor events, including Outdoor Cinema screenings, are weather dependent.
Rain, strong winds, unsafe temperatures, severe weather, unsafe ground conditions or other circumstances may make it unsafe or impractical for an event to proceed as scheduled.
Where reasonably necessary, Taai Bekkies Events may postpone or reschedule an event; adjust opening, starting or finishing times; relocate an event; modify activities or entertainment; or cancel an event. The safety of attendees, staff, vendors and suppliers will always take priority.
6. Weather Postponements
If an Outdoor Cinema screening or other ticketed outdoor event is postponed because of unsuitable weather, the event will ordinarily be moved to another suitable date. Tickets for the original date will automatically remain valid for the rescheduled date. Customers will not need to purchase another ticket.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify ticket holders using email, SMS, WhatsApp, our website and/or our official social-media channels. Customers should also check our official event communications before travelling when poor weather is expected.
7. If You Cannot Attend the Rescheduled Date
If an event is postponed and you cannot attend the replacement date, contact tickets@taaibekkiesevents.co.za. Any refund or cancellation request will be considered in accordance with the CPA and the Refund, Cancellation & Weather Policy below.
8. Customer Cancellations
A customer may request cancellation of an advance booking. Taai Bekkies Events reserves the right, where permitted by law, to impose a reasonable cancellation charge.
The CPA allows suppliers to impose a reasonable cancellation charge for advance bookings, taking into account circumstances such as the nature of the service, notice given and the reasonable potential to find another customer. We therefore do not apply a blanket “no refunds under any circumstances” policy.
9. Event Cancellation by Taai Bekkies Events
If we permanently cancel a ticketed event and do not provide a replacement or rescheduled event, affected customers will be offered an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable South African consumer law, which may include a refund. Refunds will normally be returned using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
10. Event Programme Changes
Advertised vendors, performers, activities, entertainment, attractions and programme schedules may change. A reasonable programme change does not necessarily constitute cancellation of the event. We will endeavour to provide the experience advertised but cannot guarantee that every advertised vendor, attraction, performer or activity will remain available.
11. Outdoor Cinema Rules
Outdoor Cinema guests must follow reasonable instructions provided by event staff. A screening may be delayed, paused or stopped where weather, technical problems or safety concerns make this necessary. Film age classifications and restrictions must be observed. Parents and guardians remain responsible for ensuring that films are appropriate for children in their care.
12. No Photography or Recording During Cinema Screenings
Photography and recording of the film during an Outdoor Cinema screening are strictly prohibited. Once the movie begins, attendees may not photograph, video record, audio record, livestream or otherwise reproduce the cinema screen or film content. This includes recording using mobile phones, cameras, tablets, smart devices or any other recording equipment.
Photography may take place before and after the screening in appropriate event areas, provided it does not interfere with other visitors. Anyone found recording the film may be instructed to stop immediately. Continued or serious non-compliance may result in removal from the event, subject to applicable law.
13. Event Photography
Taai Bekkies Events may take photographs or video of the general event environment for promotional, marketing and event-record purposes. This may include crowds, stalls, activities, entertainment and general atmosphere. We will not intentionally record or reproduce copyrighted film content during Outdoor Cinema screenings.
Where practical, a person with a reasonable concern about an identifiable photograph of themselves or their child may contact info@taaibekkiesevents.co.za.
14. Children
Children remain the responsibility of their parent, guardian or accompanying responsible adult. Taai Bekkies Events does not provide general childcare unless a particular activity is expressly advertised as supervised.
15. Conduct & Right of Admission
Our events are intended to provide a safe, welcoming and family-friendly environment. Attendees must not engage in unlawful, threatening, abusive, violent, dangerous or seriously disruptive conduct. Attendees must comply with reasonable instructions from event management, venue personnel, security and safety officials. Subject to applicable law, a person may be refused admission or required to leave where reasonably necessary for safety, security or serious misconduct.
16. Personal Property
Visitors remain responsible for their own belongings. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taai Bekkies Events will not be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property where the loss or damage was not caused by circumstances for which we are legally responsible.
17. Third-Party Vendors & Activities
Independent vendors, food traders, entertainers and activity operators may participate in our events. Where a product or service is purchased directly from an independent vendor, that transaction may be between the customer and that vendor. Nothing in this clause excludes any responsibility Taai Bekkies Events has under applicable law.
18. Payments
Online payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Customers may therefore also be subject to the payment provider’s applicable terms and privacy policy. Where card details are processed directly by the payment provider, Taai Bekkies Events does not receive or store complete payment-card details.
19. Website Use
Users may not use our website for unlawful purposes; interfere with its security or operation; make fraudulent bookings; misuse payment systems; attempt unauthorised access to systems or accounts; or reproduce protected commercial content without permission.
20. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, Taai Bekkies Events owns or is authorised to use the branding, website material, event graphics, photographs and promotional content displayed on our website. Third-party trademarks, films, music, photographs and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
21. Circumstances Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Events may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, power interruptions, government restrictions, public-safety incidents, venue closures, supplier failures or other unforeseen events. Where this occurs, we will take reasonable steps to communicate changes and provide an appropriate solution having regard to the circumstances and applicable law.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights afforded to consumers under applicable South African law.
